Top 10 Reasons Why I Love Football

By Wellington Wetwater

College? NFL? Arena? Flag? Fantasy?

It’s Tuesday afternoon; do you find yourself longing for the weekend? Not because the idea of having two days off from the daily grind perks your interest, but because your living room television is bombarded by “College Game Day”, the SEC Saturday night Showdown, and of course Sunday NFL Madness. Here are the little things that get me through the week and the top 10 reasons why I LOVE football:

1) I LOVE Fall weather, which in turn means Football Season.

Reason: I can curl up on my sofa wearing my old college sweatshirt, slide the screen door open, and feel the chill in the air. Whether you live in Florida or Minnesota, you have to admit the change in the weather puts you in the mood!

2) I LOVE tailgating.

Reason: Food, drinks, friends, family, football, and more. What more could you ask for? Not convincing enough? How about loud music, horseshoes, silly pictures with friends and did I mention food, drinks, friends and family?!

3) I LOVE pep rallies.

Reason: Reminiscent of high school where the band plays, the cheerleaders cheer, and the bonfire burns into the wee hours of Friday nights. Continue reading

The NFL Football Season Has to Be My Favorite

By Geoffrey Wagner

I have worked for many years as a freelance sports writer, and even though I have a great love of pretty much every single sport and look forward to the start of most seasons, the NFL football season has to be my absolute favorite.

When I was growing up, we were basically a two-sport family – football and baseball. We had a running joke in our family where we referred to February and March as “the wilderness months,” because that was the time of year when football had finished and baseball had not yet started. Even then, the biggest letdown of the year came when the Super Bowl was over.

As I grew up and became more interested in sports, I fell in love with many others. I am a huge hockey fan, and now that I have that to watch, the months of February and March are not so bad. Combine that with the fact that I actually became a wrestler in high school, and now I have the high school state championship and college national wrestling championships in the months of February and March, respectively. What Makes NFL Replica Football Jerseys a Hit?

By Cassaundra Flores

It used to be that football jerseys are only worn by players themselves, but because of the great demand of fans sports apparel have also considered making NFL replica football jerseys. Because of this, football jerseys are now split into two different categories: the replicas and the authentic jerseys. The authentic jerseys are those made to fit the player. If a fan decides to buy authentic jerseys, they can most probably just be hanged up on the wall or whatever football collectors do with other souvenirs. They are often not made to be worn because they may not fit the person who buys them. On the other hand, replicas resemble the actual football jersey in terms of the overall design, logo, and numbers. It’s the same in appearance with the NFL jerseys but it is made to fit the person who will buy it.

As such, NFL replica football jerseys have grown in such an enormous popularity. Fans, old and new, are always seen wearing them especially when watching live NFL games right from the bleachers. They are now deemed as the best way that a fan can show support towards his favorite team and players. NFL replica football jerseys are also a hit in more ways than just this and these are the other considerable reasons why. Continue reading
